Man Utd and Newcastle get game-changing Romano update on Mane

Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Sadio Mane’s situation at Bayern Munich amid reports that Premier League sides Manchester United and Newcastle are leading the chase to land the Senegal international in a summer transfer.
Mane has endured a disappointing season at Bayern since making the move from Liverpool last summer for €32 million.
He has played 37 times for the Bundesliga leaders, scoring 12 goals and creating six more. These numbers are well down on what the 31-year-old was achieving while with the Anfield club, for whom he was consistently excellent.

Rumours are rife that Mane, whose Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) is €55m, could move back to England this summer. He has also been linked to Chelsea.
According to Romano, though, the aim of Mane is to remain with Bayern.
“Understand talks took place recently between Bayern, Sadio Mane and his agency in order to clarify things after difficult first season for the winger,” he Tweeted.
“Mane wants to stay, he hopes to win titles and change his history at Bayern next season.”

Tuchel to force Mane out of Bayern?
Mane, who is under contract until 2025, may not get his wish, though.
According to reports from Sky Sports Deutschland on Wednesday, Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel does not see a future for the player at the club.
He was given just six minutes off the bench against Schalke in a 6-0 last weekend – his least amount of action since returning to action after being suspended by the club for a clash with teammate Leroy Sane.
This incident sums up a frustrating campaign for Mane, who has been struggling with form and fitness issues for the duration of the season and has, therefore, struggled to earn regular game time ahead of Sane, Serge Gnabry and Thomas Muller.
Despite this, the links to Man Utd, in particular, are surprising given that manager Erik ten Hag has typically favoured targeting younger players in the transfer market, although for Newcastle he could be seen as something of a marquee addition this summer.
