But the 28-year-old's future does not necessarily lie at the Etihad Stadium, with top European clubs interested.

He was strongly linked with a move to Barcelona last summer – and would have completed a move had the Camp Nou side had the funds to complete the purchase.

While PSG have been linked with the player as a replacement for Lionel Messi.

"My plan is to finish the season well, win the Premier League and then the two finals... Then, this summer, we'll see what happens," he told RMC Sport.

What is Bernardo Silva’s transfer value?

FootballTransfers’ values Silva at €75.5 million, with only a handful of City players given a higher Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) than the former Monaco man.

Indeed, his value would be even higher if he were not a player already in the peak years of his career with just a couple of years left on his contract. There are only seven players in the 23-30 age range who have a higher transfer value than him.

This is the result of years of consistently excellent performances, with Bernardo’s value having constantly topped €50m since January 2019.
