The rest of the 2023 summer transfer window is set to be a huge for Manchester United as they aim to become the biggest club in England once again.

The Glazers are in the process of selling the club, but new owners have not yet been chosen as the process continues to drag on

The Red Devils have, however, managed to make several key summer additions, with Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund joining from Chelsea, Inter and Atalanta respectively.

Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat could be the next, with Erik ten Hag lining up a move for the Morocco international. In terms of departures, David de Gea, Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe were released upon the expiration of their contracts, while Zidane Iqbal, Anthony Elanga and Alex Telles have been sold for a fee.

Below are five more players who could exit Man Utd this summer.

Who will Man Utd sell or release this summer?

Harry Maguire

Harry Maguire is likely to push for an exit from Man Utd this summer, and the club are unlikely to stand in his way. Maguire has endured a miserable time at Old Trafford during the past two campaigns, ever since his impressive Euro 2020.

After an error-prone 2021-22 season, he finally lost his place in the first team during the 2022-23 campaign as manager Ten Hag preferred Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.

Maguire’s main reason for wanting to leave is to avoid losing his England starting place ahead of Euro 2024. West Ham are very interested, although the Englishman doesn't want to join a club not in the Champions League.

Fred

Brazilian midfielder Fred sees his contract expire in 2024 and there are no plans currently to extend.

Indeed, the likelihood is that Man Utd will sell him this summer if they receive the right offer.

Fulham and Galatasary have expressed their interest in landing the Brazil international, but a bid has been accepted by the Red Devils yet. Furthermore, Man Utd must sell Fred to fund a move for the aforementioned Amrabat.

Potential Man Utd buyer Sir Jim Ratcliffe also once dubbed United’s signing of Fred as “dumb” so if the Englishman does take over the club then an exit is even more likely.

Scott McTominay

As with Maguire, Scott McTominay has also garnered interest from West Ham, with David Moyes wanting a hard-working central midfielder to replace Declan Rice.

However, Man Utd are said to want £40 million for McTominay, which is an expense the Hammers may not be able to afford given they are on the verge of signing Ajax's Edson Alvarez.

Jose Mourinho's Roma are also keen on McTominay, but are similarly unlikely to cough up the money necessary to sign him.

Eric Bailly

Eric Bailly spent last season loan at Marseille and played less than 600 Ligue 1 minutes due to yet more persistent injury issues.

The Ivorian has missed 110 games of football through injury since moving to Old Trafford in 2016 and his highest number of Premier League games in a single season still stands at 25 - which he achieved in his first year at Man Utd.

Furthermore, he has just one year left on his contract and Man Utd are likely to attempt to cut their losses.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Aaron Wan-Bissaka also sees his contract expire in 2024, although unlike Fred there is an option for United to extend by a further 12 months.

Nevertheless, there is a chance Wan-Bissaka will be sold this summer. He played his way into form under Ten Hag last campaign, but the presence of Diogo Dalot means he could be sold. However, this is now looking far more unrealistic that at the start of the window.

Links with Bayern's Benjamin Pavard have quietened down, while previous target Jurrien Timber has joined Arsenal. Wan-Bissaka is now more likely to stay than leave, but an exit can't be 100% ruled out.
