Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali responds to Pochettino question

Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali gave a response when asked by a fan if the club will put in Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager.

The Argentine has been linked to the hot seat at Stamford Bridge all for the past week as the west London side look to bring in someone ahead of the next campaign.

Pochettino is considered the favourite at this point, but it is thought that whoever comes in shall do so at the end of the current season.

Currently, club legend Frank Lampard is in charge on an interim basis - but he is yet to find a win, losing each of his four games he has presided over.

Eghbali was seen leaving a basketball game, and a fan there, who recorded the interaction, asked the American whether Pochettino would be selected as the new Blues manager.

But remained relatively coy, saying: “Maybe, maybe.” Before he then gave a little wink to the supporter asking the question.

Chelsea fans delight

The exchange as sent some sections of the Chelsea fanbase into meltdown online - with many perceiving the cheeky wink as an indication that the former Tottenham boss is set to take over as Chelsea’s new manager.
