Liverpool target Keito Nakamura

Kaoru Mitoma's wondergoal for Brighton against Liverpool last Sunday wasn't the first time he's hurt them this season, and now Jurgen Klopp and Co. are scouting for a Japanese wing wizard of their own…

Mitoma scored a stunning last-minute winner for Brighton against Liverpool in the FC Cup fourth round last weekend, knocking the holders out with a disguised volley which he had teed up for himself.

Mitoma has also completed 10 dribbles against Liverpool in the Premier League this season - more than he has against any other club - and the Reds are now reportedly keeping tabs on hiss Japanese compatriot Keito Nakamura, who is currently with LASK in Austria, in the hope he can do a similar job for them.

What position does Nakamura play in?

Like Mitoma, Nakamura's preferred position is the left wing, from where he can cut inside on his stronger right foot to wreak havoc, but he is also capable of playing across the final third deep or wide of a central striker.

How good is Nakamura?

Nakamura has impressed for LASK this season, his 11 goals and six assists in all competitions giving him a goal-involvement of one every 87 minutes he has played across Austrian Bundesliga and OFB Cup.

Still only 22, the former Japan youth international has already had spells in his native Japan, the Netherlands, Belgium and latterly Austria, and the feeling is that he is ready to make the step up as Mitoma has done.

When does Nakamura's contract expire?

Nakamura's current contract in Linz runs until 30 June 2025 - a deal he extended last August.

How old is Nakamura?

Born on 28 July 2000, Nakamura is 22 years of age at the time of writing.
