RB Leipzig confirmed the signing of Benjamin Sesko from Red Bull Salzburg, with the player set to join in 2023, opening the door for Christopher Nkunku to depart.

The Frenchman has been Leipzig’s star, and was named Bundesliga Player of the Season in the last campaign, prompting Leipzig to give him a new in the summer to fend off interest.

Nkunku was attracting interest from some of Europe’s top clubs but Leipzig wanted him to stay to help their push for the Bundesliga title in the 2022-23 season.

Now, though, there could be a chance for him to leave next summer, and if he continues performing at this level, there will have to be a massive fee paid for him.

Which clubs could sign Nkunku in 2023?

Chelsea

Chelsea were one of the clubs linked with a move for Nkunku earlier this summer, with the Blues keen to reinforce their attacking line following the departure of Romelu Lukaku.

They’ve also sent Timo Werner back to Leipzig, and with Kai Havertz not hitting his best, it could open the door for Nkunku to move to Stamford Bridge.

The Frenchman would arguably be a better fit than those mentioned above, and if he’s working with Thomas Tuchel, he may just become even better.

Arsenal

At one point in the window this summer, Arsenal were linked with an incredible €100 million move for Nkunku, but no such transfer materialized.

Since then, Arsenal have signed Gabriel Jesus, and have a young forward line, but if they go back in for him next year, they’d be even better.

Arsenal are on a gradual rise, and adding Nkunku to the likes of Jesus, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard and others would be excellent.

Real Madrid

There was a feeling that after Real Madrid missed out on Kylian Mbappe, they would chase Nkunku to make up for it, but that never happened.

Instead, they went for another Frenchman to improve their midfield, as Aurelien Tchouameni became this summer’s biggest transfer.

There’s still a gap to fill in the Real Madrid attack, and going for Nkunku would be a smart decision – he’s got the record to back up his qualities.

Manchester United

Manchester United have long been interested in Nkunku, right from the time Ralf Rangnick was at the club, and they need a big player like him.

Their attack has been lethargic, and if that continues this season, there will be the need to replenish next summer, and Nkunku is the man to do it.

He won’t be cheap, and United will have to spend big, and getting ahead of the competition on this will be essential if they want to bring him to Old Trafford.
