Chelsea do not want to sign Neymar for the same reason they don’t want to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, CBS reporter Ben Jacobs writes for FootballTransfers.

Neymar wants to stay and fight for his place at PSG.

And the message from the Neymar camp has been clear there.

When Luis Campos came in, he made it clear that players must fight and be part of this new team-oriented culture at PSG which is not individualistic.

Neymar and Galtier have strong relationship

People assumed that Campos would just force Neymar out but what has actually happened is that Neymar has formed a strong early relationship with new PSG manager Christophe Galtier (pictured below).

And Neymar was never going to resolve his future without speaking to Galtier first and now that’s been done there is a real feeling that he can have a place within the team.

No offers for Neymar

And just like Dembele earlier this summer, there just isn’t a long queue of formal offers that are available at this stage for Neymar.

Because you have to be able to afford him but you also must be able to pitch to him what the next step of his career is.

He doesn’t want to return to Brazil yet as he still sees himself as a top European player.

So that doesn’t leave too many clubs for him as he doesn’t want to take a significant step down from PSG.

Why Chelsea don’t want Neymar

He would listen to an offer if he got one but Chelsea don’t want to proceed for the same reasons as Ronaldo.

Even though Tuchel has worked with him before and admires him, there is nothing to suggest Chelsea will move on that as he doesn’t fit their model.

Interest from other Premier League clubs like Newcastle is unsubstantiated. They always get thrown in because they are one of the few who can afford his wages.

But there is nothing to suggest at this stage that Neymar will leave PSG. He just needs to understand his relationship with Galtier and then he will know what his place is in the team.
