Liverpool are demanding at least €41 million (£35m) in order to sell Sadio Mane this summer.

That is according to the Daily Mail, which reports on Sunday that the Reds will not allow the Senegal star to leave on the cheap.

It was widely reported on Sunday that Mane played his last game for Liverpool during Sunday’s Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.

Liverpool lost the game at the Stade de France in Paris 1-0, with Mane playing the full 90 minutes and going as close as anyone in Red to scoring.

WHO ARE THE MOST VALUABLE PLAYERS IN THE WORLD?

Mane had hinted before the match that he would be departing at the end of the season and it is reported that he has already said goodbye to his teammates.

The 30-year-old’s contract at Anfield expires in 2023, as does his attacking partner Mohamed Salah’s deal.

EUROPEAN GOLDEN SHOE: 2021-22

Liverpool have made the decision not to extend the contracts of both Mane and Salah, given they will both be 30 by the start of next season.

Salah is now expected to stay with the money freed up from Mane departing.

As for Mane, the strong favourites to sign him are Bayern Munich.

Bayern are ready to begin direct talks for the winger but they know that a deal won’t be cheap.

Liverpool are set to demand at least €41m for a player who has been one of the best in his position in the world over past five years.

Barcelona are also interested in Mane as they seek to strengthen their own attack, although Robert Lewandowski is their first choice.

Mane would not be a direct replacement for Lewandowski if he does join Bayern, with the German giants planning to use him on the left wing.

Mane joined Liverpool from Southampton in 2016 and has scored 120 goals in 269 games.
