Thomas Tuchel has ruled out any departure from Chelsea after the club is sold to a new owner in the coming weeks.

Due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has been forced to sell the Stamford Bridge side before sanctions in England hit him and potentially freeze his assets.

While a number of potential bidders have been named, there is no confirmation of who could end up owning Chelsea before the end of the year.

Such speculation has led to many wondering what will become of the Premier League side and whether senior figures within the club will stay put.

But when it comes to Tuchel’s future, the manager was quick to dismiss any notion of him leaving the club anytime soon.

'Chelsea are the perfect fit for me'

“I have the opposite problem of staying here. Chelsea, from my point of view, is the perfect fit and I love to be here. Hopefully, it continues,” said the German manager at a press conference on Friday.

“There is uncertainty but isn't it always as a football manager? So I have trained to live with it at different levels and this is quite the level. But I am positive and I hope things will end well.”

When asked if the club had discussed transfer plans for the summer window, Tuchel also explained that nothing had been set in stone.

“There have been no talks for the summer. It is simply too early,” said the former Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund head coach.

“We're in a good place at the moment. I feel the team growing and getting better and better. So no worries on this case until the summer. There is a long way to go.”
