Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Fabio Carvalho will depart the Reds again after being recalled from his RB Leipzig.

The Portuguese youngster has not had an easy time of it since the beginning of last season. Heavily utilised after arriving from Fulham, Carvalho eventually saw his game time diminish dramatically to the point where a permanent departure was rumoured in the summer.

Ultimately, Liverpool decided to keep the faith in Cavalho and only loan him to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, but his fortunes haven't improved. On the contrary, he was recalled on December 31 because he just couldn't get regular minutes under Red Bulls boss Marco Rose.

Back at Anfield, many Reds fans want to know what the future will hold for the youngster. Is his time as a Liverpool player over after not grasping the chance to impress in the Bundesliga? Or will he be loaned out again? Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims to have the answer.

New loan for Cavalho

According to the Italian, the 21-year-old will again be sent out on loan, but this time it appears as though he will stay in England. Speaking to CaughtOffside, Romano revealed: “As reported a few weeks ago, Liverpool were not happy with the amount of playing time Carvalho had at Leipzig."

"Although the Bundesliga side were quite keen to keep him, he was barely playing, and so his return to Anfield was officially announced yesterday. So, what now? The plan is for Carvalho to have a new loan move for the second half of the season. Carvalho will leave Liverpool and there are multiple Premier League and Championship clubs (including Southampton) keen on signing him on loan."

“I also think that at this stage in his career, a loan move is the best solution for the boy. He’s a big talent, it’s not been easy for him for the last year or so but I’m sure with the right loan move and regular minutes he can bounce back.”
