The summer window won't open for another month and a half, but the speculation surrounding the future of Xavi Simons has already developed into a veritable transfer saga.

The Dutchman has been in stunning form over the past two seasons, first at PSV and now at RB Leipzig after being re-signed by PSG last summer and subsequently loaned to Germany.

There is a four-way battle developing for the 21-year-old, who has notched an impressive nine goals and 15 assists this term. Arsenal and other Premier League sides have been linked with a move for him, Barcelona are desperate to bring their La Masia product back and Leipzig want to keep Simons around for another season.

Then, of course, there is PSG and the French giants have now made a definitive decision on the youngster's future, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Simons won't be sold

The Italian transfer expert has revealed that PSG's club chiefs have informed Simons' camp that there is no way that he will leave Paris permanently this summer. PSG will only entertain loan offers for the Dutch wonderkid.

"It was never a possibility, a permanent transfer to Barca, a permanent transfer to Leipzig, too expensive, so [there is] nothing happening for a permanent transfer," Romano said on his YouTube channel. "The only way is a loan deal for Xavi Simons. PSG want to keep Xavi Simons."

"If Xavi Simons goes there and tells PSG, 'I want to go, I want to leave,' in that case, PSG are prepared to let Xavi Simons leave on loan. Xavi Simons will have a say in picking his favourite club to go on loan. There is interest from Barcelona, interest from Leipzig, also [from] clubs from England."

"Now, the situation is open. Before the Euros, the intention of Xavi Simons is to communicate his decision to PSG. So keep an eye on Xavi Simons because it could be one of the big stories of the summer transfer window."
