Arsenal, Manchester City and PSG have received confirmation that Bruno Guimaraes’ future is out of Newcastle United’s hands.
Magpies boss Eddie Howe has admitted that the Brazil international midfielder could depart this summer if a release clause in his contract is triggered.
Howe has clarified that this is only in place until 30 June, suggesting that there will be an almighty scramble to secure the services of the 26-year-old before this date. He did not, however, put a figure on how much Bruno could depart for, but it is believed that his cost will be around the €117 million (£100m) mark.

“Having that was well planned and structured by the club, in a sense that there is a finish point,” Howe said. “We don’t want the constant speculation, I don’t think that’s healthy for the player or for us.”
The Newcastle boss is not about to fret over the prospect of Arsenal coming in with a big bid to secure the midfielder.
“When it’s something you don’t necessarily have control over, I don’t tend to worry about that,” Howe admitted. “I think it goes without saying what my thoughts on the Bruno situation are.

“We want to keep him, we want to build our team around him and he’s an integral part of what we are doing.
“His form has been very good. He seems very happy and settled. He will be thinking about a busy summer ahead and where we can hopefully take the team forward. He is a big part of that. We are not in control of that, so we shall see.”
Why the deadline?
The 30 June deadline represents the end of Newcastle’s accounting year, which is an important consideration for the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules. Breaching these are likely to see a club punished with a points deduction.
Newcastle are thought to be flirting with this situation, which is why both Bruno and star striker Alexander Isak are being linked with a summer transfer.
