Arsenal in ‘ADVANCED TALKS’ for midfielder, Fabrizio Romano confirms

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arsenal are in “advanced talks” over a new deal for midfield star Jorginho.
Confirming a FootballTransfers exclusive from earlier this season, Romano states that the Italy international midfielder is close to agreeing a stay at the Emirates Stadium.
There had been speculation that the Arsenal star could leave for Juventus in the summer, yet these rumours have now been put to bed, with the 32-year-old former Chelsea star now looking likely to stay in the Premier League for another year.

“One of the big stories yesterday is the news that Jorginho looks set to sign a new contract to extend his stay at Arsenal, with his previous deal having been due to expire this summer, making him a free agent and resulting in some speculation about interest from Juventus,” Romano writes for the Daily Briefing.
“The negotiation is advanced for Jorginho to extend his stay at Arsenal. More will follow in the next days, but talks are advancing well and Jorginho is happy at Arsenal, so they are confident to continue together. I’m not aware of contacts with Juventus honestly, despite what’s been reported elsewhere.
“Some fans have also asked me about how this deal might affect Thomas Partey’s future, but my understanding is that this is a separate topic, not linked to Jorginho, it will be discussed after the end of the season.”

Jorginho content with fringe role
FootballTransfers reported in September that Arsenal had opened talks with Jorginho over remaining at the club for another season.
He is still keen to remain at the club, despite playing a fringe role for much of the campaign.
His value to the squad, though, has been made apparent in recent weeks, during which he has helped to guide the Gunners through a series of potentially difficult matches as they seek to win a first Premier League title since 2004.
