Rangers in talks over €23.5m summer transfer
Rangers remain in talks to sell Nicolas Raskin this summer amid significant interest from a number of clubs across Europe.
The Belgium international, who made six appearances for his country at the World Cup, has two years remaining on his current contract at Ibrox, but he is keen to explore a possible transfer and it’s understood that a sale is likely to take place.
La Liga side Real Betis are among the clubs keeping close tabs on Raskin’s situation and they remain in talks over a possible deal for the 25-year-old, according to The Daily Record.
It’s reported that Betis are pushing to finalise an agreement for the Rangers midfielder, but they face competition from Aston Villa, Hull City and multiple unnamed clubs in England, Germany and Italy.
Rangers have reportedly set their asking price for Raskin at €23.5 million (£20m) and the Belgian would become their all-time record sale if he departs the club for that fee before the end of the summer transfer window.
Derek McInnes’ side have already received multiple offers for Raskin and while their valuation has not yet been matched, it’s understood that a sale is highly likely to be finalised, with the 25-year-old keen to leave the club following his impressive form at the World Cup.
Raskin made 50 appearances across all competitions for Rangers last season, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists, and his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €11.4m.
Who have Rangers signed so far this summer?
Rangers have been extremely busy in the transfer market so far this summer, signing Ivor Pandur, Ross McCrorie, Dan Neil, Lawrence Shankland, Cammy Devlin and Ben Godfrey (loan).
Meanwhile, the Scottish giants have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Partizan Belgrade midfielder Vanja Dragojevic for €5.5m, and they remain in talks over a deal for Jens Hjerto-Dahl.
In regards to outgoings, Rangers have sold Jack Butland to Hull City, while Ben Davies, James Tavernier, Kieran Wright and Leon King have all left upon the expiration of their contracts. Youngster Bailey Rice has joined Kilmarnock on loan.
