Haaland’s long-term future at Manchester City is already being called into question less than a year after arriving at the club.

Haaland is enjoying a record-breaking season at City, already scoring 34 goals in all competitions.

However, City have regressed as a team and currently find themselves five points behind Arsenal in the Premier League race.

A move away this summer seems unlikely but the feeling is that a transfer in 2024 or 2025 is very possible.

Real Madrid favourites for Haaland

Real Madrid are considered the favourites to be his next club. The Spanish media believe that Madrid see Haaland as the successor to Karim Benzema, who is now 35 and is on an expiring contract.

But Marca report that PSG will go all-in to rival Madrid for Haaland.

Haaland has a release clause in his Man City contract that comes into effect in the summer of 2024 that is worth the aforementioned €200m.

According to The Athletic, that release clause is only valid for clubs outside of the Premier League.

It is also reported that the release clause will decrease each year after it is activated in 2024.

Haaland completed a €60 million transfer to Man City from Borussia Dortmund last summer.

The striker turned down Real Madrid in order to join the English champions.
