Thiago Pitarch has signed a new contract at Real Madrid in a move that has huge implications for the club's interest in PSG midfielder Vitinha.

The Spanish giants have reportedly identified the Portugal international as a priority target for 2026, with Xabi Alonso lacking a player of Vitinha's profile in his senior squad.

However, signing the PSG man will be an eminently difficult undertaking as the reigning European champions are under no pressure to sell. Indeed, Vitinha is still tied to the club until 2029, and it would reportedly take north of €90 million to persuade PSG just to consider a sale.

Fortunately, Real Madrid have an emerging talent on their books who appears to be a 'Vitinha 2.0.' Thiago Pitarch has been given first-team opportunities by Alonso in pre-season, and he has made sure to grasp them with both hands.

The 18-year-old recently signed his first professional contract with Los Blancos, and his performances have now already earned him a bumper new deal.

Pitarch signs new Real Madrid contract

Pitarch was a substitute in Real Madrid's friendly clash with WSG Tirol and is expected to be kept in and around the first team this season, or at least in the early stages of the campaign while Eduardo Camavinga recovers from injury.

Alonso has been so impressed with Pitarch that he has now been handed fresh terms by Real Madrid, with Fabrizio Romano confirming that the youngster has put pen to paper on a new contract.

The transfer insider states that Alonso's 'very positive feedback' was crucial in getting the deal over the line. Real Madrid believe that he can evolve into their very own Vitinha.

If Pitarch indeed manages to hit the heights expected of him, he could save the LaLiga giants a fortune and provide Alonso with the playmaking tools that no other player in the squad currently has.
