It was expected that he’d be a back-up option to Karim Benzema as the team’s forward this season, but things have not panned out that way.

Now, it’s emerged that Real Madrid tried to sell the player in the summer transfer window, but no club wanted to take him on due to no guarantees over his game time.

Hazard proving hard to sell

Hazard joined Real Madrid in 2019 and arrived with loads of promise, having enjoyed one of his best individual seasons with Chelsea in the year before, as well as a great World Cup the year prior.

However, he suffered an injury early on in his spell and things haven’t been the same for him, with the player missing much of the last three years.

He was barely involved in Real Madrid’s Champions League and La Liga wins last season, but was hoping things would improve for him in this campaign.

So rough has been Hazard’s luck that he is yet to play in El Clasico, having been injured in all possible meetings over the last few years.

It’s emerged recently that Real Madrid have no idea of what to do with him, with the Belgian tied into a contract at the club until the summer of 2024.

He is also the club’s best-paid player, reportedly earning €600,000-a-week at the club, but there is hope from the Madrid side that there could be a loan offer in the future.

According to reports, Juventus could be tempted to make a loan offer if Hazard can demonstrate that he is able to remain fit for a few months.

His wages have proven to be a stumbling block, but if a deal can be agreed, there’s a possibility for Hazard to revive his career elsewhere.
