Marco Asensio’s Real Madrid future is up in the air with just a week left in the transfer window, as Manchester United show interest in the player.

The Spaniard is out of contract at the club at the end of the season and Real Madrid are open to selling in the final week of the transfer window in order to make a fee for him.

Asensio has rarely featured for Real Madrid this season – playing just eight minutes in three official matches thus far – and that could be the case for the rest of the season.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti has also confirmed that Asensio is looking for a way out of the club in the coming days so that he can get regular football.

Real Madrid haven't received offer yet

"I don't know what will happen. He is looking at something to see if he can leave. If he doesn't leave, from September 1 he will be a Real Madrid player, 100 percent," the Italian coach said.

Real Madrid haven’t yet offered Asensio a contract renewal, and don’t plan to do so anytime soon either, which is why they’re open to transfer offers from other clubs.

Asensio has recently been linked with a move to Manchester United, with the English side open to paying about €30 million for the player, however, his transfer could be dependent on other scenarios.

The Red Devils’ first priority is getting Ajax’s Antony, and they are embroiled in negotiations with the Amsterdam side in order to get the transfer done before deadline day.

Asensio will prove to be a cheaper alternative, as Ajax are demanding a fee of over €90 million for the Brazilian winger, which is proving to be a stumbling block in this scenario.

Ajax are also looking to get a replacement before selling Antony, which is proving to be quite difficult at this stage of the transfer window, and that may be good for Asensio and his future.
