Vinicius Junior has broken his silence over his Real Madrid contract negotiations after claims that he was handed an ultimatum by the Bernabeu side.

Reports from Spain over the weekend indicated that Los Blancos had told the Brazil international striker that the offer currently on the table is the last one he will be given, and that if he does not accept it, he will be sold in the summer.

Numerous clubs have been linked with a move for Vini Jr, with intermediaries having already contacted a string of major teams, including Manchester United.

Vini Jr: Real Madrid is my dream club

Vini has made his plan clear – and that’s to stay at Real Madrid.

Speaking ahead of the club’s Champions League clash against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, he said: “I hope I can stay here for a long time.

“I hope I can stay here for a long time. I still have a year left on my contract, and we’re all very calm because I have the president’s confidence. Everyone who speaks with me every day knows exactly what we want,” he said.

“When the time is right, we’ll work on the renewal so I can keep playing here, because this is the club of my dreams. Every day I come here, I’m happy, and I want to stay for many more years.”

Vini Jr opens up on Alonso problems

Vinicius has admitted that he had a difficult time under previous head coach Xabi Alonso, with whom he openly clashed during El Clasico after he was replaced. The situation with Alvaro Arbeloa, however, is much better, he says.

“It was a difficult time because I played in a lot of matches but had very few minutes. Every coach has their own methods and ideas. I think I wasn’t able to connect with what he wanted and what the team wanted, but it was a learning period. I learned a lot, and the players helped me a great deal during that time as well,” Vini Jr said on Alonso.

“I did a lot of reflecting and was able to improve as a person. I hope things continue like this with Arbeloa, with whom I have a wonderful connection. He always gives me confidence and tells me exactly what I need to do. I’m ready to put in great performances for the coach and for this club that has given me time.”

Vini Jr will hope to show his best level against Bayern in what promises to be a make-or-break match for Real Madrid after falling seven points behind Barcelona in La Liga at the weekend after a shock loss against Real Mallorca on Saturday.
