When does the contract of every Barcelona player expire?

Memphis Depay, Barcelona v Getafe, 2021-22

Barcelona are currently in financial turmoil and are working tirelessly to reduce their massive debts, which were reported at being around €1.3 billion.

In addition to that, the Blaugrana have been ordered by La Liga to reduce their wage bill to meet new regulations which stipulate that any club in the Spanish top flight must not spend any more than 70% of their annual turnover on player wages.

It was Barcelona's requirement to reduce their wage bill which ultimately led to the departure of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann in the summer, two massive earners.

Messi was actually out of contract in the summer and was expected to come back as a new player, but new players were unable to be registered at that time.

Had the Blaugrana had their iconic Argentine on a longer deal instead of his desired one-year rolling contract, he'd still be at the club.

Barcelona will be very, very keen to avoid a similar situation with three of their current stars in Ansu Fati, Pedri and Ousmane Dembele, all of whom have contracts which run out in less than 12 months.

Fati and Pedri. in particular, are seen as the future of the club, and it would prove a hammer blow to lose them, especially on a free transfer in 2022.

Barca's two main acquisitions this summer were Memphis Depay and Sergio Aguero on free transfers from Lyon and Manchester City respectively.

It shows how perilous a financial situation the club is in that Memphis especially was only given a two year deal.

Both he and Aguero will see their contracts expire in 2023.

The players with the longest contracts currently in the Barcelona squad are Eric Garcia, Clement Lenglet and Frenkie de Jong, who have deals until 2026.
