'We're not crazy!' - Bayern boss confirms clubs won't let Lewandowski leave for Barcelona

Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has stated that the club would be “crazy” to let Robert Lewandowski leave the club and has labelled reports linking the player to Barcelona as “the biggest nonsense story”.
On Monday reports from Poland stated that the senior striker and his representatives had agreed terms with the Spanish giants and would sign a three-year deal upon Bayern either selling him this summer or when he leaves the club at the end of his contract in 2023.

However, as FootballTransfers confirmed, no such agreement had been made and Lewandowski’s future at Bayern is unlikely to be determined until the player begins contract discussions with the club later this year.
And when asked about the prospect of Lewandowski leaving the club this summer ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Villarreal, Khan made it abundantly clear that they intended on doing all they can to keep him.

'We're not crazy'
"There's probably a competition out there: Who can come up with the biggest nonsense story about Lewandowski?” remarked Kahn on Amazon Prime.
"We definitely have him with us for another season. Robert knows what he gets out of Bayern. We know what we have in him. From then on, we'll wait and see."
He added: “Bayern have a contract with Robert that runs for another season. We said we would start talks, and we started that a long time ago. And if there is something to announce, we will do so."
Despite speculation linking him with moves abroad, Lewandowski’s form certainly suggests that he’s happy where he is.
So far this season the Poland international has bagged no less than 46 goals and four assists in just 40 games. And Kahn pointed out that the club would do all they can to keep a player that contributes so much to the team.
"We're not crazy and are now discussing a player who scores between 30 and 40 goals for us every season,” said Kahn.
"On the other hand, a certain amount of friction isn't all that bad for the team, and at Bayern in particular there are constant discussions about personnel and players."
