Former Manchester United attacker Louis Saha has warned his old club against signing PSG superstar Neymar.

It is understood that PSG have placed Neymar on the transfer list and wish to offload him in the summer.

The Parisians are unhappy with Neymar’s performances on the pitch, as well as the circus he often brings off it as well.

As a result, Neymar has been heavily linked with a summer transfer to the Premier League - probably the only major league whose teams can afford the Brazilian’s salary.

Chelsea are known to be considering a move, while Man Utd have also been linked.

But Saha believes it would be a mistake for United to buy the 31-year-old.

What did Saha say about Neymar?

They are also disappointed with his poor attitude and professionalism off the pitch, not to mention his injury record.

“It would be great for the Premier League to have Neymar playing in England because he’s such a terrific player,” Saha told Betfred.

“He’s very entertaining to watch but I can understand the question marks that can come from having a player like Neymar at your club.

“I’m just a big fan of the player on the pitch but I don’t believe he’s lived up to expectations in his last three or four seasons with PSG.

“I wouldn’t want to see him in a Manchester United shirt considering the exaggerated media attention a superstar like him would attract.

“The team structure is so important and still fragile at times. But I certainly believe he’d be a great addition to the Premier League.”

Neymar’s career at PSG

Neymar smashed the world transfer record when PSG paid his €222 million release clause in the summer of 2017 to buy him from Barcelona.

The Brazilian moved to Paris hoping to escape Lionel Messi’s shadow in order to become the best player in the world.

However, the now-31-year-old has failed to live up to his price-tag and has been plagued by injuries and declining form over recent years.

He has since reteamed up with Messi after the Argentine moved to PSG in 2021.

But Messi’s future is also in doubt as his contract expires at the end of the season.
