Gary Neville has lashed out at the Glazers after their supposed sale of the club reaches yet another round of bidding.

The Premier League giants’ owners are speaking to interest parties who are looking to buy the club - but the process is dragging out, with the family still not happy with the offers that have been put forward.

Consequently, the former right-back has taken aim at the Glazers’ handling of the sale, especially given that the process is starting to encroach on the upcoming transfer market.

“There are still suggestions that they will not sell and will take a partial investment instead, he said to the Daily Mail. “They have to get out as quickly as possible to allow new owners to come in and put United back to where it should be — on and off the pitch.”

Old Trafford omitted

It comes after it was announced that Old Trafford had been omitted as a host venue for the UK and Ireland's Euro 2028 bid.

Neville said that the move was 'shameful' and 'the final straw' for the Glazers, with the Theatre of Dreams being the UK’s largest club-owned football stadium in terms of capacity.

Man Utd’s neighbours Manchester City's Etihad Stadium had made the cut to be a host, while among the other arenas include Everton's Bramley-Moore Dock and Casement Park in Belfast, stadiums that have not even been built yet.

Neville told the Daily Mail: “The Glazer family have, for years, been warned about a lack of investment in Old Trafford,' he said. 'They have overseen a decline for 20 years in which it has gone from being one of the best stadiums in the world to one that can't even get into the top 10 in the UK and Ireland.

“This is an all-time low. That it is not in the best 10 to host a tournament is a joke.”

He added: 'There has been no investment. It is a rusty stadium. This is a dereliction of duty. It is shameful.”
