Gavi's agent visits Real Madrid amidst transfer rumours
The agent of Barcelona wonderkid Gavi visited Real Madrid’s offices last week, sparking rumours that the 17-year-old may not stay with his boyhood club beyond his rapidly expiring contract.
The teenage midfielder, whose current deal runs until June 2023, has been the subject of interest from Europe’s elite - including Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

However, any Real Madrid move would violate the verbal agreement between Barcelona president Joan Laporta and his Madrid counterpart Florentino Perez, who have tentatively resolved not to move for each other’s players while contract negotiations are taking place.
Where will Gavi go next?
Gavi has been something of a revelation since breaking through under Ronald Koeman, and Barça are keen to keep hold of the young midfielder.
Under Xavi this season, Gavi has made 27 appearances, scoring twice and assisting four times. He also debuted with Luis Enrique’s Spain in October.
Despite the rumours, Gavi’s agent Ivan de la Pena was likely in Madrid to negotiate the contract of Real Madrid B midfielder Marc Cucalon.
Although interest in acquiring Gavi has been high, Barcelona have long maintained they plan to renew his contract - with reports of a deal until 2026 and a massively increased buyout clause circulating.
However, with just a year left until he can leave for free and Barça’s money problems persisting, the pressure is on the Catalonian club to finalise an agreement.
Gavi is just one of a number of prodigious youngsters that Barcelona boast in what is starting to develop into a rather exciting team.
The Blaugrana also have fellow wonderkids Pedri, Ansu Fati, not to mention Ferran Torres, Frenkie de Jong, Ronald Araujo and Ousmane Dembele - although the latter is set to leave this summer on a Bosman Transfer.
