Arteta promises change at Arsenal this summer following disastrous campaign

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has promised a new approach to things next season, following a dismal campaign which could see the club finish in the bottom half of the Premier League.

The Gunners are facing up to a first season without European football since 1995, having fallen short of the top four race and been knocked out of the Europa League semi finals by Villarreal and former boss Unai Emery.

Pressure is growing on Arteta with some fans calling for him to be sacked. He admits that there could be changes made to his planning with no continental commitments next season.

“We’ve been sitting down the whole year,” Arteta told reporters ahead of the clash with Chelsea, with regards to transfer policy.

“We’ve been in constant communication and things will change, some things will stick to the plan that we already had and some other things will come out. But we sit down very, very regularly to talk about those things.”

Arteta also says that there are lots of members of his squad with their futures up in the air and claims their prospects lie in making the correct decisions this summer.

“There are so many things to do because we already have a lot of players on loan and a lot of players with contracts still that we need to sort,” he added.

“It will depend what happens with a lot of those players and what we are able to recruit to improve the team, that is going to determine where we are.”

New owners at the Emirates Stadium?

Speculation over Spotify founder Daniel Ek’s interest in buying Arsenal continues to rumble on. He has enlisted the support of club legends Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira.

Fans are onside, too, as they continue to protest against the current ownership, Stan Kroenke’s company KSE, after their recent commitment and subsequent withdrawal from plans for a new European Super League.
