Arsenal transfer news: Farke on Norwich’s Buendia future

Norwich manager Daniel Farke says he is ‘99 per cent certain’ that Emi Buendia will stay at the club in January.
Buendia has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in recent times, as the 24-year-old has impressed in the Championship for The Canaries.
The striker has netted seven goals in 20 appearances this season, in addition to providing seven assists.
On the possibility of Buendia leaving in the January transfer window, Farke said: “It won’t happen. Right now, I’m 99% certain. We are not going to risk our chances of getting back into the Premier League. If moves are to happen for our best players, the summer works for all parties.”

It’s been reported that Norwich would consider a fee in the region of £40-£50m suffice to release the Argentine striker next summer.
Farke’s side currently sit top of the Championship, four points ahead of second-placed Swansea City.
Buendia joined Norwich from Spanish outfit Getafe in the summer of 2018 for a fee believed to be in the region of £3m. The striker has scored a total of 16 goals and provided 32 assists since joining the Suffolk side.
He’s yet to play for the Argentina national side. Buendia has made four appearances for the U-20 side, scoring twice.
Buendia is remarkably versatile, as he can play on either wing, operate as a No.10 behind a striker, and can also play in midfield.
It’s thought that the player is desperate for a return to playing football in the Premier League, having played there last season with Norwich, but the club got relegated in what was a horrible season.
Buendia’s versatility could be a major pull for Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta next season, should the move transpire.
However The Gunners could be put off by the £40m asking price.
