Sadio Mane really is the man for the big occasion.

Earlier this year, the attacker was the hero for his country as they won their first-ever Africa Cup of Nations.

He scored three goals, assisted two and fired home the winning penalty in the final over Egypt to clinch glory for his nation. He was unsurprisingly named player of the tournament.

For Liverpool, he is once again posting sensational numbers this season.

On Wednesday evening he scored his 20th goal of the season as Liverpool put one foot in the Champions League final. He has now broken the 20-goal mark in four of his last five seasons at Liverpool.

The Reds won 2-0 at Anfield over Villarreal in the semi-final first leg and Mane was once again one of the stars of the show.

Leading 1-0, Mane ran onto a through ball by Mohamed Salah before fantastically poking the ball home first-time on 55 minutes to make it two.

He was a constant thorn for the Spanish defence, having four shots in total before being taken off.

Mane now has an impressive 14 knockout goals in Champions League history, including of course a strike in the 2018 final versus Real Madrid.

What is Mane’s transfer value?

FootballTransfers values Mane at €47.3m.

This makes him the 30th most valuable player in the Premier League and the seventh most expensive in Liverpool’s squad behind Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson, Fabinho, Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah.

Mane would have a higher value were it not for the fact that he recently turned 30 and also his contract expires in one year.

Liverpool will have a decision to make this summer as both Mane and Salah – who is also turning 30 in June – see their deals expire.

Therefore, it is quite possible that one of Salah or Mane will be sold this summer.

The favourite to be offloaded out of the two is Mane, although contract talks with Salah are also not going well.

What is certain is that Mane will take some replacing as he showed his class again on Wednesday.
