Juventus are reported to be furious with Barcelona for tapping up striker Alvaro Morata.

Following the recent signing of Ferran Torres for Manchester City for €65 million, Morata has emerged as Barca’s main target for the January transfer window.

Barcelona want to sign Morata this month on an 18-month loan and it has been widely reported that Morata has given his okay to the move.

However, Barca need to negotiate with both Juve and Atletico Madrid in order to make this happen.

This is because Morata is in the last six months of a two-year loan in Turin from Atletico, who own his contract.

Sky Sport Italia have reported that Juventus are furious at Barcelona and particularly coach Xavi for contacting Morata without permission.

Will Juventus let Morata leave?

Juventus coach Max Allegri is said to be reluctant to let Morata leave unless the club can find an adequate replacement.

Allegri has spoken to Morata and told him this, despite the fact that the Spaniard would like to move to Barcelona.

The Bianconeri have been looking around for other striking options, regardless of Morata’s future.

Mauro Icardi is an option from PSG, but Juventus are understood to only be willing to loan him until the end of the season.

Juventus’ plan, according Gianluca Di Marzio, is to sign a young striker in June and the current favourite for this role is Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca.

Juve have struggled badly this season in front of goal since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, who departed in the last days of the summer transfer window.

The Old Lady are the lowest scorers in the top half of the Serie A table and are currently four points of a Champions League spot.
