Cristiano Ronaldo was presented with a special ‘GOAT’ jersey ahead of Juventus’ match against Benevento on Sunday.

Last week, Ronaldo’s hattrick against Cagliari saw him surpass Brazil legend Pele for the most goals scored in football history.

To celebrate the landmark, Juventus president Andrea Agnelli presented Ronaldo with a Juventus jersey with the name G.O.A.T (Greatest Of All Time) and the number 770 printed on the back.

Ronaldo’s treble versus Cagliari saw him reach 770 goals in competitive games.

“491 with the right foot, 143 with the left foot, 134 headers, 2 others. That’s why you’re the GOAT,” Juventus tweeted.

Ronaldo joined Juventus in a mega-money deal from Real Madrid in the summer of 2018.

Ronaldo’s record for Juventus

Individually, the 36-year-old has been a revelation. Ahead of this weekend he had scored 95 goals in 122 games, including 30 in just 33 matches this season.

His exploits helped the Bianconeri to successive Scudetti in his first two seasons, although Inter look red-hot favourites to win the title this term.

The Champions League has been a less successful competition for Ronaldo since he arrived in Turin, with Juventus winning only one knockout tie in three years.

The latest disappointment saw Juve eliminated by Porto in the last 16 a fortnight ago, a result that has led to a lot of speculation that Cristiano could leave the club this summer.

Real Madrid, Man Utd and Sporting Lisbon have all been linked with a move for their former player.

Sunday was not a good day for Ronaldo as Juventus fell to a shock 1-0 home defeat to Benevento, a result that has all but ended their Scudetto hopes.
