PSG ‘very confident’ that Neymar and Mbappe will sign new contracts

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has stated that he is ‘very confident’ that his attacking duo Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will sign contract extensions to remain in Paris.
Both mean have been the subject of much speculation, in particular Mbappe, who has been courted heavily by Real Madrid in the past year and Zinedine Zidane has made no secret of the fact that they wish to bring the World Cup winner to Spain.
But after the thumping 5-1 win over Istanbul Basaksehir to round off their Champions League campaign, a match in which Neymar struck a hat-trick and Mbappe hit a double, the former claimed he has no intention of leaving Paris.
He said to RMC: I am very happy here in Paris. I am very happy at the club, with my teammates. The idea of leaving does not cross my mind. We need to talk. we have a very good relationship, I am very happy at PSG.”

And with the Brazilian seemingly committing his future, Al-Khelaifi followed this up by saying he believes that Mbappe, who is out of contract in 2022, will also sign on the dotted line.
He said: ““We have begun to talk with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe; the discussions will remain confidential but I am very confident. They both want to stay with us at PSG.”
Lionel Messi to PSG?
PSG will be delighted with moving closer to agreeing terms with their star forwards, and it also raises questions around the issue of Lionel Messi’s future.
The Argentine will almost certainly leave Barcelona this summer and is free to negotiate terms with any club in January. PSG seemed to be one of his preferred destinations, but with Neymar’s current deal worth £600k per week and Mbappe likely demanding similar, could they also afford to pay Messi’s near-£1m per week deal at Camp Nou?
Neymar just last month spoke his desire to play with Messi once again ‘as soon as next season’.
An interesting summer of bartering appears to be around the corner.
