Man Utd Transfer News Today: Red Devils battle Juve for World Cup star
FootballTransfers runs through the latest Man Utd transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Jhon Lucumi, Manu Kone and Archie Brown.
Lucumi interest
Juventus thought they had a deal sewn up for Bologna defender Jhon Lucumi, but Man Utd have now expressed their interest following his impressive performances at the World Cup with Colombia.
The Bianconeri fear that United’s interest will see Bologna increase their asking price, which was around €25m previously, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Bologna's CEO has previously indicated the club promised Lucumí they would consider selling him this summer if a suitable offer arrived, making a transfer more realistic than last year when no move materialised.
Kone terms agreed
Man Utd have reportedly agreed personal terms with Manu Kone, though a transfer fee is yet to be sorted with Roma.
Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Al-Ahli and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in the Frenchman, who impressed many with his performances at the 2026 World Cup.
According to L'Equipe, Roma are said to be delighted at the interest in their midfielder as they hope to instigate a bidding war, which is why United and the Italian gianst are yet to agree on a fee.
The very least they'll agree to is €59m.
Left-back targeted
Both Man Utd and Chelsea are interested in Fenerbahce left-back Archie Brown.
The Premier League sides are keen to add to their left-back roster and Brown has been identified as a relatively cheap option as he would reportedly cost just €18m, reports TeamTalk.
Reports suggest intermediaries have sounded out United over a possible move, and the club has been tracking Brown since before his transfer to Fenerbahce. They're assessing him as one of several left-back options rather than as a priority target.
Tchouameni boost?
The club have reportedly received encouragement in their pursuit of Aurelien Tchouameni, with Real Madrid said to be open to selling the French midfielder if the right offer arrives.
According to The Sun, Madrid would consider parting ways with Tchouameni this summer, provided any bid meets the club's asking price. The report follows suggestions that Jose Mourinho had previously intended to keep the midfielder as part of his plans for the season.
United are understood to remain keen on Tchouameni, and discussions could gather pace now that the France international has returned from World Cup duty.
Baleba considered again
United have apparently revived their interest in Brighton's Carles Baleba despite baulking at his previous valuation.
He is among the names being 'strongly considered' by the Red Devils in their search for a third midfield signing, following the acquisitions of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.
United have been long-term admirers of the Brighton man, and Sky Sports reports that the club has 'made movement' to reignite their interest in the 22-year-old, although there is yet to be contact with the Seagulls.
It's added that a 'compromise' around the price would need to be found for any deal to go ahead.
