Fabrizio Romano reveals the latest transfer updates as Real Madrid agree Yan Diomande terms, Rodri remains a target, Arsenal chase Bruno Guimaraes and Tottenham push for Savinho.

Real Madrid agree personal terms with Yan Diomande

Real Madrid have exploded into the race to sign Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, putting doubts over the Ivory Coast midfielder’s links to PSG.

“Jose Mourinho indicated to Real Madrid that he wanted Jan Diomande, which is why the club submitted an opening offer worth €90 million plus €10m in add-ons. That proposal was rejected by RB Leipzig, who are demanding more than €100m to complete the transfer,” Fabrizio Romano said.

“This decision by Real Madrid has also clarified the situation regarding other clubs. There were reports from Germany today suggesting Manchester City were ready to enter the race, but City actually made their approach several days ago. Arsenal also explored the situation around a week ago.

“Both clubs contacted people close to the player to understand whether there was an opportunity, but Yan Diomande did not open the door to a move to England. At this stage, that position has not changed.

“Initially, Diomande was open to joining Liverpool. He then agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain, and now Real Madrid have entered the race.

“I can reveal an additional detail. Real Madrid travelled a few days ago to begin direct discussions with RB Leipzig. During that trip they formally presented their offer and held face-to-face talks with the German club. They also met with people close to the player.

“According to my information, Real Madrid have now received the green light from Yan Diomande on personal terms. After opening discussions, they have reached a full agreement with the player. The contract is agreed and will run for five years. Yan Diomande has opened the door to joining Real Madrid.

"Paris Saint-Germain have had personal terms agreed since June, but now Real Madrid have also completed an agreement with the player, giving them real confidence.

“PSG have tried over the last 12 hours to re-enter negotiations with RB Leipzig and compete again for the deal. They had almost a month to complete the transfer but were unable to reach an agreement with Leipzig. As I reported previously, there was also confusion surrounding the player's agency, which complicated matters.

“Real Madrid, meanwhile, have secured the player's agreement, submitted an official offer and started formal negotiations. Their first bid was rejected, but they will return with a new proposal.

"Now everything depends on negotiations between the clubs. Real Madrid want to go all in to sign Yan Diomande for Jose Mourinho.”

Rodri remains on Real Madrid’s shortlist

Real Madrid are also still chasing Manchester City star Rodri, but they face the prospect of competition from PSG.

“Some sources within the industry believe the recent stories linking Rodri with Paris Saint-Germain are partly a reaction to Real Madrid moving so strongly for Diomande after PSG had been negotiating for weeks,” Romano said.

“Real Madrid remain in contact with Rodri's representatives, but they are still waiting for Florentino Perez to give the green light before making an official bid to Manchester City.

“That's why club-to-club talks have not started yet.

“Rodri is very keen on the move, but everyone is waiting for Real Madrid to decide whether to proceed.”

Bayern Munich close the door on Michael Olise exit

Bayern Munich have once again insisted Michael Olise is not leaving despite continued links with Real Madrid.

"Sporting director Christoph Freund discussed several transfer topics today. He confirmed that Sacha Boey and Joao Palhinha are no longer part of Bayern's plans,” Roman said.

“When asked specifically about Michael Olise and Real Madrid, he made it clear that it is not a topic because Olise will stay at Bayern and is expected to play a very important role next season.

“This is not the first time Bayern have made their position clear. Uli Hoeness has already spoken publicly, club president Herbert Hainer has done the same, and now Christoph Freund has repeated the message.

“Bayern want to keep Olise and intend to offer him a new contract.

“Real Madrid have an excellent relationship with Bayern and will not jeopardise that relationship. Florentino Perez is a big admirer of Olise, but Real Madrid will only move if Bayern themselves indicate that the player is available.

“Until Bayern make that call, Real Madrid will not submit an offer. The gentleman's agreement between the clubs remains in place, so for now Olise is not for sale.”

Manchester United offered Danilo

Manchester United have been presented with the opportunity to sign Botafogo midfielder Danilo but are focusing elsewhere.

"Danilo has been offered to Manchester United and proposed as a possible midfield option.

"At the moment, however, the deal is not progressing because United have different priorities in midfield.

“It's important to distinguish between the players being linked with Manchester United.

“Danilo is a player who has been offered to the club. This is not a negotiation initiated by Manchester United.

“Manu Kone is different. Manchester United have spoken directly with the player's agents and have held concrete conversations over a possible move.

“However, they have not yet contacted Roma because they are still deciding which type of defensive midfielder they want to sign.

“Mikel Arteta considers Bruno Guimaraes one of his top priorities and believes he is the perfect midfielder for Arsenal's project. Personal terms have already been agreed between Arsenal and the player.

“Now everything depends on reaching an agreement with Newcastle. Arsenal are not giving up and are ready to push hard to complete the deal, making next week a crucial period in negotiations.

“Newcastle have already signed Aladji Bamba, but they have also lost Sandro Tonali. They have been holding discussions over Lucas Bergvall, although Nottingham Forest are also interested.

“There is plenty of movement involving midfielders across Europe's biggest clubs, so it's a situation to watch closely.”

Nottingham Forest closing in on Givairo Read

Nottingham Forest are making strong progress in their pursuit of Feyenoord full-back Givairo Read.

Romano confirmed: “Forest are prepared to spend more than €20m on the right-back.

“An agreement with the player is not expected to be a problem and Nottingham Forest are now pushing to complete the deal.”

Tottenham continue Savinho talks

Tottenham remain determined to strengthen their attack, with Manchester City winger Savinho again a target after they sought to sign him last summer.

Romano explained: “Roberto De Zerbi recently explained that after rebuilding the midfield and defence, Tottenham now want to strengthen in attack.

“He said the club already have top players but need to add more quality rather than simply signing ordinary players.
