Maresca wants Neto reunion

Enzo Maresca is hoping to reunite with another Chelsea star at Manchester City in Pedro Neto but he may have to pay a premium to prise away his former player.

According to the Daily Mail, Maresca is keen to bring Neto to City, with current wingers Savinho and Omar Marmoush facing an uncertain future at the Etihad.

Chelsea have not quoted a price for Neto as of yet but they are aware of interest from City, Liverpool and sides in Saudi Arabia and the West London side believe the current market will allow them to command a significant fee for the 26-year-old.

With the likes of Bradley Barcola and Yan Diomande being valued at more than €120m, Chelsea believe that, although Neto would struggle to fetch such a large fee, the rising valuation of wide players this summer could net them a significant price for the Portuguese winger.

Xhaka transfer confirmed as ‘closed’

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris has confirmed that captain Granit Xhaka won’t be joining Chelsea this summer after the West London side made tried to sign him earlier this month.

Chelsea saw multiple offers turned down for Xhaka but the Swiss international opted against reuniting with former manager Xabi Alonso and Le Bris shut down any talk of the deal being revived later in the summer.

"No, this topic is closed,” Le Bris said after Sunderland’s 4-2 friendly loss to Liverpool on Saturday.

“He has been really clear about his future. He loves Sunderland, he wants to stay in Sunderland. He wants to make the future of Sunderland. He is a good captain. Great leader."

Acheampong linked with Liverpool

Liverpool could target Josh Acheampong this summer after seeing Joe Gomez suffer an injury in their first pre-season friendly.

Gomez went off injured in Liverpool’s 4-2 win over Sunderland on Saturday and, while no news has been given over the severity of the issue, Andoni Iraola’s side are now more desperate for defenders than ever.

The Liverpool Echo has mooted Acheampong as a potential target if Liverpool dip into the market to replace Gomez, although no talks have been held as of yet.

Xabi Alonso is believed to see Acheampong as untouchable after already rejecting interest from a number of Premier League sides this summer but Chelsea need to sell players, meaning a deal can’t be ruled out later in the window.

Napoli want Badiashile

Napoli are reportedly interested in signing Benoit Badiashile after enduring an injury to defender Alessandro Buongiorno.

Sun Sport report that the Italian side are willing to offer Badiashile a three-year contract, with the Frenchman said to be keen on the opportunity.

A number of unnamed Premier League clubs are also credited with an interest in Badiashile, while Chelsea had also attempted to offer the 25-year-old in exchange for Crystal Palace star Maxence Lacroix.

Chelsea have keen on cashing in on Badiashile this summer after seeing the defender fall out of favour last season.
