Chelsea offered perfect Julian Alvarez SWAP deal opportunity
Chelsea appear to have been offered a potential chance of a Julian Alvarez swap deal as Atletico Madrid hold an interest in Nicolas Jackson.
Jackson is spending the season on loan at Bayern, but he is expected to return to Chelsea in the summer. The Senegal international has failed to dislodge Harry Kane from his starting position and struggled for minutes in Bavaria.
Although the 24-year-old seems to be enjoying his time in Munich - he recently went viral for filming himself walking through the snow wearing nothing but shorts - he is unlikely to still be a Bayern player come next season.
However, Chelsea similarly do not plan to keep Jackson around, as Emmanuel Emegha has already been signed to effectively replace him. He will therefore have to find a new club.
Despite his struggles this season, the striker still enjoys a solid reputation around Europe. Indeed, according to wiwsport, the former Villarreal star could be on his way back to LaLiga to join one of the biggest clubs in Spain.
Atleti want Jackson
The report claims that Atletico Madrid are "closely monitoring" Jackson as they prepare for the potential departure of star striker Julian Alvarez. Ironically, Chelsea are among the clubs credited with an interest in the Argentine.
This could present the two sides with an opportunity for another informal swap deal, something they already did in 2024 when Conor Gallagher moved to Madrid and Joao Felix returned to Stamford Bridge.
However, a major stumbling block is Alvarez's reported reluctance to head back to England following his stint at Man City. The 26-year-old is not keen on playing in the Premier League, which is also bad news for other suitors like Arsenal.
As for Jackson, he also has admirers outside of Spain. Unnamed English clubs are said to hold an interest in him - other reports have mentioned Man Utd - while Turkish clubs are also keenly following his situation.
At this stage, the only thing that is clear is that Jackson will leave Chelsea in the summer.
