Chelsea are ready to sell Alfie Gilchrist for less than €2 million this summer, according to a report.
The 21-year-old broke into the Blues' first team under Mauricio Pochettino in the 2023/24 season, making 17 appearances and scoring one goal across all competitions.
The homegrown established himself as a real fan favourite as he made no secret of the fact that he was proud to wear the shirt of his boyhood club. Gilchrist's father and grandfather were both season ticket holders at Stamford Bridge.

However, since his breakout campaign, the versatile defender has not really been seen in West London. Gilchrist was loaned to Sheffield United last term and played regularly for the Blades before an ankle injury derailed his campaign.
Despite the promise he has shown, Gilchrist is considered surplus to requirements at Chelsea, and the Premier League giants are listening to offers for the academy graduate.
Chelsea lower Gilchrist asking price
In fact, in order to speed up his exit, Chelsea have now decided to lower their already measly asking price even further. Initially, Chelsea had hoped to raise around €5.7 million (£5m) from Gilchrist's departure.
According to Ben Jacobs, this valuation has now dropped down to just €1.7m (£1.5m). Of course, Chelsea would want add-ons and a potential sell-on clause as part of his sale.
Nevertheless, it is an eye-catching price considering that Gilchrist currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €8.9 million. So far this window, Chelsea have done a great job of extracting value out of their unwanted players, which makes this situation even more surprising.
Gilchrist's likely destination appears to be in the Championship or Saudi Arabia. Suitors will surely be all over this deal in the coming days as it looks to be a real steal on paper.
