Arsenal have set an asking price of £50 million for Eddie Nketiah, according to 90min.

The Gunners are not looking to sell the striker and that is reflected in their valuation.

The figure has also been influenced by the sale of Folarin Balogun in the summer.

Mikel Arteta's side received £35m from Monaco for the 22-year-old, who they believe to be an inferior player to Nketiah.

However, £50m for a backup striker is surely too much, even if he has performed well on occasion.

Nketiah has just 19 Premier League goals to his name in over 100 appearances, albeit the majority have come from the bench.

How much is Eddie Nketiah worth?

Eddie Nketiah is valued at just €16.9m by FootballTransfers' in-house algorithm.

One reason for this is that he is not a young player anymore. At 24, he is expected to be entering his prime and is no longer given the leeway of a player that is still developing.

Another reason is his lack of consistent goals. Five in nine Premier League starts this season is fairly impressive, but it is not a big enough sample size to really increase his value.

Finally, his style of play is that of a poacher, which will always hold value in the game, but not as much as a complete striker. Nketiah is not known for his aerial presence, nor his ability to link up with teammates.

As a result of these factors, FootballTransfers' valuation seems more representative of the striker's career to date than Arsenal's.

But, perhaps a Premier League club would be willing to go as high as £30-40m in the hopes that a starting spot significantly increases his output.
