Liverpool fans make plan to ‘drown out’ national anthem for King Charles’ coronation

Liverpool supporters have come up with a way to ‘drown out’ the national anthem which is set to be played in their Premier League fixture against Brentford on Saturday to mark the coronation of King Charles III.

The Premier League had advised that all clubs mark the occasion by playing ‘God Save the King’ - though they did not make it mandatory.

Liverpool fans booed the British the national anthem before the start of last season’s FA Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley.

And the Reds have opted to play ‘God Save the King’ will be played at Anfield before kick-off, confirming the decision via their official channels.

But some fans have reacted to the news, saying that they will drown out the noise by playing the club’s anthem ‘You Never Walk Alone’ over the top.
