Former Chelsea and Brighton manager Graham Potter is being looked at by Ligue 1 side Nice to become their next coach.

Nice Martin reports that the Englishman is under consideration for the job following his poor tenure at Stamford Bridge.

Potter is currently without work after being sacked by Chelsea last month. He has been linked to the Tottenham job, but so far nothing has progressed beyond gentle murmurs.

Outlet Nice Martin say he is liked by Nice, who are managerless at the moment, with Didier Digard acting as the caretaker.

It would mean that Potter would be working under British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who has recently been bidding for a stake in Manchester United.

Reports suggest that it is Ineos director of sport, Dave Brailsford, who has identified Potter as the perfect man for the job.

Potter would, therefore, be the successor to Lucien Favre, who was dismissed back in February.

Nice will wait until the end of the season to make an appointment, but it is believed that Brailsford is leaning towards appointing a British manager.

Potter has previously worked abroad, having spent time in Sweden before joining Brighton in 2019.

He spent six months at Chelsea and was sacked in April, with the side nowhere near a European spot.

Frank Lampard took over, but the results have remained the same. It was recently announced that Mauricio Pochettino had agreed terms with the Blues and looks set to take up the hot seat in the summer, ahead of the new season.

The move has infuriated some Tottenham fans who have pleaded with Daniel Levy to reappoint the Argentine boss who previously led them to their best-ever Premier League finish.

Spurs remain undecided over who they will choose as their next boss.
