Quilindschy Hartman is busy with his rehabilitation after the defender was injured in Feyenoord's 4-2 victory over FC Utrecht in March.

The left-back will be out of action until at least the end of this year with his knee injury. This came at the worst possible moment as Hartman had just been in discussions with Chelsea about a possible transfer.

It must have been a huge blow for Hartman when his injury not only saw him lose his spot in the Dutch national team for the European Championship but also ended his hopes of moving to the Premier League for the time being. The left-back was having an excellent season at Feyenoord and had set his sights on leaving this summer.

Although Feyenoord are not very keen on Hartman leaving, the club recognises that the defender is on the radar of international clubs. FootballTransfers exclusively revealed prior to his injury that Newcastle and Bayern Munich have been showing an interest in acquiring his services.

According to 1908.nl. Hartman had been speaking extensively with Chelsea and was open to a possible switch to London. Due to his injury, a transfer this summer can definitively be ruled out.

Chelsea to return next year?

Hartman is still under contract at De Kuip until 2026 and will have to focus on his return next season. However, according to the above-mentioned outlet, it is not impossible that Chelsea will return for the player next season. The 22-year-old defender has made an excellent impression, which means Chelsea will closely monitor his rehabilitation.

Hartman and his entourage attended the match between Arsenal and Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium last week. The left-back watch Chelsea lose 5-0. It is not known whether his visit had anything to do with a possible move to Arsenal or Chelsea.

However, Hartman was not the only Feyenoord player who was in London recently for a football match. Lutsharel Geertruida was in the stands for West Ham United's 2-2 draw against Liverpool after which rumours immediately followed about a possible transfer.
