Former Manchester United mainstay David de Gea could be offered the chance to continue his career in a Europe with Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports in France.

De Gea's contract at Man Utd has expired, with the club twice reducing the terms of any potential new deal and now focused on securing the €60 million signing of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The game may have evolved past De Gea - he won the Premier League's Golden Glove for 17 clean sheets last season but got into trouble with his feet - but that didn't stop Bruno Fernandes and others lashing out at how the Spaniard's departure was treated.

De Gea made 545 appearances for United after joining from Atletico Madrid for €25m in 2011, and is perhaps the club's second greatest goalkeeper of all time after Peter Schmeichel, but it has looked like his top level career would be over.

Saudi interest in De Gea

Al-Nassr, who famously recruited De Gea's former Man Utd teammate Cristiano Ronaldo in January, have been credited with an interest, but PSG are now considering a move for him, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Hugo Lloris, with doubts around Gigio Donarumma swirling.

"Last year's goalkeeping trio, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Rico and Alexandre Letellier, have been trusted until now, despite [Football Advisor] Luis Campos' doubts about the Italian's performances towards the end of the season," report l'Equipe.

"Now there is a period of reflection under Luis Enrique, and a goalkeeper could be recruited. It remains to be seen whether he would act as the No.1 or simply called upon to put pressure on Donnarumma as his No.2."

De Gea kept 25 clean sheets in all competitions last season, Donnarumma 14, but the former had 10 more games in which to do so.
