Barcelona midfielder Gavi has admitted that there is transfer interest from PSG, but while he says that Luis Enrique is the best coach in the world, it’s not bad news for Blaugrana fans.

Gavi, 20, has long been linked with a move to the Champions League winners, and while that interest clearly persists, the Spain international midfielder appears to have no appetite to leave Camp Nou.

Indeed, he has committed his future to Barcelona for as long as the club may want him.

Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, Gavi was asked about PSG’s interest and said: “Yes, yes, but that won't happen. I'm calm here. My dream and ambition is to stay at Barcelona my entire career. It's the club of my life. I will do everything possible to stay here.

“I'm absolutely clear about it. People believe what they read in any media…”

Gavi hails Luis Enrique and Flick

Despite his firm intention to remain with the Catalan side, Gavi says that Luis Enrique is the best coach in the world.

“For me, he's the best. He's number one, a standout, both him and his staff,” the midfielder said.

“I'm so happy for him. He was the one who gave me my debut for the national team, against the European champions, Italy, at San Siro. I'll never forget that day. And he had the guts to put me in, because everyone was all over him. I'm so happy for him, and he deserves everything.”

Equally, current Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has won Gavi’s affection.

“Very close, I think you can see it. But not just with me, but with the whole team as well. He's a man who's always there for you when you need him, and that's very important,” he said.

Gavi missed the first two months of the season as he completed his recovery from a serious injury but still managed to make 42 appearances for Barcelona this season, scoring three goals and generating three assists.
