Bayern deny Haaland rumours: We’ve already got the world’s best No.9

Erling Haaland will not be moving from Borussia Dortmund to Bayern Munich in the summer, according to Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
The CEO of the Bundesliga giants says that Bayern simply have no need for Haaland while they still have Robert Lewandowski in their ranks.

The subject of Haaland’s future continues to be a hotly debated subject, with the 20-year-old continuing to catch the eye in Dortmund.
Agent Mino Raiola claims that there are as many as 10 teams vying to sign the Norway international forward this summer. Among these teams are the very best in the world, including Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City.
Bayern, though, claim they are not one of those.
Rummenigge told Sport Bild: “I don’t know where the rumours have come from. I can only say one thing: we have the best player in the world in this position.
“Robert Lewandowski has a contract until 2023. And I am convinced that with his professionalism – if you just see how he trains and takes care of his body – that will not necessarily be the end for him.”

Ironically, Lewandowski is set to be laid up for Bayern Munich’s forthcoming Champions League clashes against Paris Saint-Germain.
Having limped out of Poland’s 3-0 World Cup qualifying win against Andorra on Sunday after scoring two goals, the German club confirmed that he has suffered sprained ligaments in his right knee and will be sidelined for around a month.
Bayern face a crucial period over this time, with a vital fixture against RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga following by two games in the space of six days against PSG in a repeat of the 2020 Champions League final.
Although there was no Ballon d’Or for 2020, it is generally accepted that Lewandowski would have won the award had it been available. Indeed, he has scored an astonishing 35 goals in 25 Bundesliga matches this season, pushing even the exploits of Haaland at Dortmund firmly into the shade.
