Burnley winger Dwight McNeil is destined to sign for one of the big guns in the Premier League after starring for Burnley in recent seasons, according to Sky Sports pundit Lianne Sanderson.

McNeil was part of the youth set up at Man Utd before being released and picked up the Clarets in 2014.

He would go on to make his first-team debut for Burnley on the last day of the 2017/18 season against Bournemouth, before becoming a regular fixture in 2018/19.

In the 2019/20 campaign, he would play every single minute of football in the Premier League for his side, scoring two goals and assisting a further two.

Sanderson reckons he will be on the radar of the league’s elite.

“He hasn’t really gone underneath the radar, but I’d love to play with a player like him,” she said on Sky Sports.

“He’s an old-fashioned winger who provides a service for the centre-forward. He can deliver the ball, he gets at players, and I think he’s really exciting.

“When you watch the game, I think there’s a lot of really good young talent in the Premier League right now, with the likes of Foden, Mount, Grealish, Maddison, and I think McNeil is a player who, if you know the game and you watch the game, it isn’t just last night that you will have noticed him.

“He’s been doing very well this season, and I definitely anticipate a bigger club coming in for him at some point because he looks like a different level.”

McNeil has been linked with a return to Man Utd in the past, while Tottenham also reportedly interested in signing him from Burnley to provide competition on the flanks.
