Heung-min Son and Harry Kane are forming the most deadly partnership in the Premier League in the 2020/21 season so far, with the former recording eight goals and two assists so far, while the latter has six goals and eight assists – most of them for his team-mate.

Under the tutelage of Mauricio Pochettino and now Jose Mourinho, Son has developed into one of the most devastating attackers not only in England but in the whole of Europe.

  • Alongside Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin, he is the top scorer in the league so far, while he also has two goals and three assists in the Europa League.

It hasn’t gone unnoticed from chairman Daniel Levy, who is willing to make Son the joint-highest paid player at the club alongside Kane on £200,000 per week in order to ward off any potential suitors who are keeping a keen eye on his progress.

There are no suggestions that Son wouldn’t accept such a salary and sign a new deal, but if another elite team came in, could his head be turned? Here are some destination options:

    Real Madrid

Los Blancos were reportedly interested in Son over the summer but opted against making the move due to the financial restrictions around them during the coronavirus outbreak. The Korean would demand a big, big fee as he has three years running on his current deal, which put Madrid off getting involved, for now.

President Florentino Perez remains a fan, though, so until Son puts pen to paper on a new contract this one might not go away.

    Liverpool/Manchester City

Last month, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher suggested that both Liverpool and Manchester City should take a look at Son if either of Sadio Mane or Raheem Sterling was to depart their respective clubs.

“If Sterling or Mane left one of those clubs you’d think Son would be one of the first players Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp would go for,” Carragher said after Tottenham defeated Burnley in October.

Son’s reputation has certainly grown in the past couple of years, with both Liverpool and City all too aware of the threat he can possess.

However, for Spurs to even entertain a sale to one of their rivals, they will need to receive a gargantuan offer.
