Arsenal continue to pursue their interest in Red Bull Salzburg wonderkid Oscar Gloukh as he played Saturday’s Austrian Bundesliga encounter against FC Blau Weiss Linz.

FootballTransfers exclusively revealed earlier this month that the Gunners are following the 19-year-old Israel international with a view to signing him in the summer.

The competition to land the player is set to be steep, with Barcelona among the clubs who are monitoring the teenager.

Arsenal, though, are taking positive steps towards the signing of the teenager, with the Gunners out in Austria this weekend to scout him.

Gloukh played the full 90 minutes as Red Bull Salzburg were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw on their travels, a result that leaves them only three points clear at the top of the table over Sturm Graz.

Gloukh delivers impressive display

Arsenal watched Gloukh turn in a lively performance that saw him both create for others and threaten himself.

Deployed as one of two No.10s, he had four shots but more importantly delivered five key passes.

He also touched the ball 81 times and won an impressive 71% of the seven duels he contested.

Overall this season, the former Maccabi Tel Aviv player, who moved for €7 million little over 12 months ago, has been performing to an impressive level.

In all competitions this season, he has six goals and seven assists to his credit. He played six times in the Champions League, scoring goals against Benfica and Inter as Salzburg finished bottom of a testing group that also included Real Sociedad.

At international level, too, he has been making waves, scoring three goals in 12 matches.

FootballTransfers’ algorithm gives him an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €16.4m, with that value having risen from €6.1m during the summer.
