Manchester United see Roma striker Tammy Abraham as a potential signing option in the summer, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Man Utd are in the market for a permanent No.9 following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in November, having only replaced him with Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnley during January.

The Red Devils are thought to have earmarked Napoli forward Victor Osimhen as their leading option, but with the Nigeria hitman having a price tag of well in excess of €100 million and attracting interest from a string of leading clubs, there is no guarantee that he will be gettable.

As such, manager Erik ten Hag and Man Utd’s recruitment staff have drawn up a list of alternatives, which boasts Abraham among its number.

The England international is a controversial figure on the list, having been pushed out of Chelsea because of his lack of all-round contribution. Nevertheless, Abraham netted 30 times in 82 outings for the Blues before being exiled by Thomas Tuchel after winning regular minutes under Frank Lampard.

The 25-year-old has continued his scoring form in Italy and now boasts an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €61 million, although Roma are likely to ask for significantly more from Man Utd if they are to make a move.

The idea of a transfer, meanwhile, has split opinion among fans of the Old Trafford club.

What Man Utd fans think of Abraham rumour

A deal is clearly miles off, but if it came to fruition, seeing Abraham turn out instead of Osimhen for Man Utd next season isn’t something that would excite too many fans.
