While Europe's top leagues have already kicked off or are gearing up for the restart, the summer transfer window continues unabated in the background.

Plenty of big deals are still in the pipeline, while the opening fixtures may even prompt some clubs to re-enter the market in a final bid to strengthen problem areas exposed at the start.

Who, then, will be on the move this week across the world of football? Football Transfers takes a look at the deals which are on the verge of confirmation.

Aubameyang rejuvenated the Barcelona attack after moving from Arsenal in January and he may now have the chance to do the same thing at Stamford Bridge.

A 10-minute cameo off the bench against Rayo on Saturday's showed the striker just how hard it will be to get regular playing time in Barca's star-studded attack, while Chelsea are crying out for fresh blood up front.

Auba could be available for as little as £21 million and the presence of former Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel can only make the deal more attractive.

Bernardo Silva, Manchester City to Barcelona

Given all of Barcelona's troubles in merely registering their new players for the 2022-23 season, it seems surreal that they are chasing after yet another huge name.

But Bernardo could well be the next signing through the doors at Camp Nou, though with City standing firm they may struggle to pay the reported £80 million price tag on his head.

Bernardo himself suggested he may be leaving by applauding all four corners of the Etihad Stadium after Saturday's win over Bournemouth in an apparent gesture of farewell.

Adrien Rabiot, Juventus to Manchester United

United are desperate for a new midfielder, and that need has only become greater after Erik ten Hag saw how his spluttering engine room was bossed by Moises Caicedo and Brighton in their Premier League opener before folding altogether against Brentford.

Reports suggest that United have already agreed terms with Juve over the player and must now hash out a contract agreement - but they should approach the ex-PSG man with no little caution.

Wesley Fofana, Leicester City to Chelsea

Chelsea have already bolstered their defence with the signings of Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella this window, but after losing several key first-teamers at the back their transfer dealings are not done yet

Fofana, 21, is highly rated at Stamford Bridge and is on the verge of clinching an €83m move after agreeing personal terms with the club, testament to just how determined Chelsea were to land their man despite Leicester's reluctance.

Frenkie de Jong, Barcelona to Manchester United

United's pursuit of the Dutchman appeared to have hit a wall, with De Jong holding out for Champions League football and keen to stay at Camp Nou.

Barca's harsh treatment of the midfielder in recent weeks, however, could force his hand, and he is now considering leaving - with United or Chelsea the most likely destinations.

Fabian Ruiz, Napoli to PSG

It has been another busy summer for Paris Saint-Germain, who are once again spending heavily in their quest for the holy grail of the Champions League.

Their latest deal is now imminent, with Napoli star Fabian Ruiz set to join the likes of Nuno Mendes, Vitinha and Renato Sanches at Parc des Princes. Ruiz sat out Napoli's opening Serie A game at the weekend, a further clue that his future lies away from Italy.

Real Madrid were also interested in the midfielder but reportedly preferred to sign him on a free next summer, leaving the door open for PSG to strike a deal which will be confirmed shortly.
