Liverpool handed major update as €350m offer changes EVERYTHING
Saudi Pro League chiefs are prepared to submit a €350 million offer to sign Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior, according to a bombshell report.
The Brazil international has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in recent years and he is still seen as a top transfer target by those in charge of the richest league in world football.
Vinicius Jr is eager to sign a new contract at Real Madrid, as per reports in Spain, although an agreement has not yet been reached, and The Transfers Podcast understands that Los Blancos are unwilling to offer him a higher salary than Kylian Mbappe.
The 25-year-old’s current deal at the Santiago Bernabeu is due to expire in 2027 and while all parties are reportedly relaxed about the situation, Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli are set to lodge a world-record bid in an attempt to land Vinicius.
That is according to talkSPORT, who claim that Saudi chiefs have a “firm desire” to sign Vinicius Jr within the next three years.
They are reportedly prepared to submit a mind-boggling offer of €350m to Real Madrid, which would eclipse the fee paid by Paris Saint-Germain for Neymar by a whopping €128m.
Vinicius Junior wants to stay at Real Madrid
Vinicius has been offered a contract proposal worth around €1 billion over five years by Al-Ahli and he is understood to be open to a Saudi Arabia switch. However, his current priority is to remain at Real Madrid.
The Brazilian scored 22 goals and provided 19 assists in 58 appearances across all competitions last season, but the arrival of the aforementioned Mbappe resulted in a clear downturn in performance from the previous campaign.
Vinicius also struggled to make a meaningful impact at the recent Club World Cup, notching just two contributions in six games as Real Madrid fell at the semi-final stage.
If the 25-year-old is sold by Xabi Alonso’s side this summer, however, it would have a meaningful impact on the future of Rodrygo. The Brazil international has been heavily linked with a Premier League move in recent weeks, amid interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, but an exit would be extremely unlikely if Los Blancos offload Vinicius.
Meanwhile, the funds earned through the potential departure of Vinicius would help Real Madrid afford a move for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, with recent reports stating that a €150m bid has been prepared by the Spanish giants.
