The 23-year-old has emerged as one of Arsenal’s primary transfer targets for this summer, as revealed by FootballTransfers, and the Gunners are keen to beat fellow suitors Chelsea to his signature after the 2026 World Cup.

Rogers is set to play a key role for England at the upcoming tournament in North America, despite competition for places from Jude Bellingham, and he will have the chance to impress Arsenal scouts on the biggest stage of all.

We have been informed that a deal to bring Rogers to the Emirates Stadium this summer is being explored by the Gunners hierarchy, although Villa are understood to be reluctant to offload their star man unless a huge offer is received.

Rogers scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 37 Premier League matches last season, and he would likely compete with Eberechi Eze, Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino for a starting berth as a No.10 at Arsenal, while he would also provide depth on the left wing.

The England star still has five years remaining on his current deal at Aston Villa, after signing a contract extension in November, but Unai Emery’s side may be forced to accept a sale this summer in order to comply with financial regulations set by the Premier League and UEFA.

However, ex-Villa centre forward Heskey believes that his former club must keep Rogers this summer, despite admitting that his compatriot is ready to play a key role for a team of Arsenal’s stature.

Morgan Rogers to join Arsenal?

“He's definitely ready for that step up,” Heskey told The Standard when asked about Rogers’ potential summer move to Arsenal.

“Villa's in a difficult position where they have to sell players on to balance the books. But look, I think for Villa, they've got to try and keep players like that. You can't keep selling.

“I was at Villa when Ashley Young left, Gareth Barry left, James Milner left. Players like Stewart Downing left. They are really trying to build on top of that and have a go. So it's tough for them.”

Rogers currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €72.4 million, but it’s understood that Villa will demand around €100m to sell him this summer, with the 2026 Europa League winners determined to maximise the potential fee they could earn for the England star.
