Armando Broja’s form during the 2021/22 Premier League season on loan at Southampton has made the 20-year-old striker one of the most wanted strikers in the summer transfer window.

The Albania international was on target six times for Saints in 32 Premier League matches and impressed with his technical qualities and strength while on loan at St Mary’s.

With the path to the Chelsea first team blocked by several expensive rivals, Broja could be on the lookout for a new club this summer. There are plenty of Premier League suitors for the forward, who has played 14 times for Albania and has scored four times in the process.

West Ham have reportedly stepped up their interest in the player in recent days, making him their No.1 summer priority, according to Di Marzio. Indeed, it is reported that they have opened negotiations with the Blues over the attacker, with a deal possible around the £25-30 million mark.

Everton are said to have been monitoring the striker closely while newly promoted Nottingham Forest are another club that has been keeping tabs on the player, as revealed by FootballTransfers.

Indeed, FootballTransfers understands that Broja does not see his future at Stamford Bridge.

The striker, meanwhile, enhanced his reputation further with a fine performance for Albania against Israel during the June Nations League fixtures, although his country lost 2-1 after he had opened the scoring from the penalty spot.

Tuchel on Broja

Despite the interest and the player's apparent desire to leave, don’t expect movement in this case anytime soon. Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has already indicated that he wants Broja and Connor Gallagher, who starred on loan at Crystal Palace, back in the squad for pre-season.

Speaking in May, the German said: “First of all they will come back, for sure, because they are our players.

“When we give them on loan we do this for them but also for us, to have better players, more experienced players back.

“They are our players and I want to have them in pre-season and in pre-season we will decide what’s going on.

“It’s heavily linked to them, it’s heavily linked to how they integrate and what they do and what our ideas are for them and what they want to reach.

“And it’s heavily linked to our sanctions and the situation around the club, so it’s too early to predict the future for them and their role for the whole season, but they will be back in pre-season that’s for sure.”

With the sanctions having lifted on Chelsea following the takeover of the club, Broja’s future at Stamford Bridge is not secure and this will inevitably lead to transfer speculation.
